Thanks! I’ll try the last part of your instructions for the auto connect to PIA. I assume I’m not showing my own IP right? (Sorry, I’m so noob with OSMC)

I have also tested the traceroute and the first line says 10.1.10.1 (or 10.45.10.1) and next line shows PIA’s address. Sudo openvpn -cd /home/osmc/vpn-config -config YOURPIALOCATION.ovpn -auth-user-pass $Įcho "if you see tun0 10.1.10.1 everything is ok and you can exit terminal # the last line of the script tests that tun0 is activated. # the YOURPIALOCATION.ovpn to ie Germany.ovpn/UKLondon.ovpn/your preferred location. # and after the script has connected to Private Internet Access, you need to change # This script kills openvpn and then opens it, checks the IP address before The script is my first ever so sorry if it’s not made right… At least I can get my IP changed to PIA’s IP in my OSMC when I go to terminal at the OSMC at startup and start this script.

However it's possible that the LAN WAN switching is being done by Windows 10 itself. As recent HP updates have made it difficult to resolve this issue. To resolve your issue we are going to have to do some trouble shooting. So the VPN enables the TAP adapter, and then the system immediately disables your WAN adapter killing off your WiFi connection. This happens with any openVPN implementation on Windows due to the reliance on the TAP adapter which is specified as a LAN adapter. This is where to save power the WAN adapter is disabled as soon as a LAN adapter is enabled, the idea is that a LAN connection is always going to be better than a WAN connection so the WiFi adapters are no longer required once a LAN one is active. This issue is associated with something called LANWAN switching. Before this driver it would keep dropping the wifi constantly. I have the latest driver with these results. I then have to turn on my wifi, then connect it again and it usually stays connected after that.
